Where walking is a pleasure

Walk ID 100192367
Group AV02 Somer Valley Group
Date Wed 6 December 23, 1008 days ago
Details Another Winter Stroll around the Somerset Coalfield,

Join us on this five and a half mile walk to discover more colliery pit heads in the villages of North Somerset, (now North East Somerset).

This walk starts in Clutton and after a short walk along a country lane we reach the most northern pit of Clutton, then turn south to visit further pitheads of Clutton and High Littleton, with a few tiny pit heads not often recognised.  The walk has some sections of firm ground and some muddy country fields.  It's a varied walk, including woods, rivers and the fringes of villages.

Please wear substantial footwear to cope with the muddy conditions. As the ground is uneven you may find the use of a walking pole useful.
