Stoke & Newcastle Ramblers

From Barlaston village green car park we plan a figure of eight route with an initial loop of two miles through the Wedgwood estate past the Barlaston Hall, St John’s Church and Wedgwood Cricket Club using lanes and the towpath of the Trent and Mersey Canal. We will then climb to the top of Barlaston Downs to enjoy the view before walking down to Wash Dale Lane and returning using the footpath along the western side of Downs Banks. There are no stiles, but some steep inclines and there may be muddy sections en route. Walking poles are recommended if you use them.
