Fourteen ramblers enjoyed a leisurely walk around Rudyard Lake and the feeder in warm sunshine and without mud. A sign of things to come hopefully!

We would both like to thank the twenty two Ramblers who joined us on a walk from Upper Tean through Huntley Wood and then returning along field paths and a disused railway line. Despite it being a little too early for English bluebells, we all enjoyed the warm sunshine and being amongst trees and other green spaces. After returning to our cars, the New Broom PH at Checkley proved to be an excellent venue for a post walk tipple and continued camaraderie before we headed home.

Eight keen Ramblers kept their fingers crossed that the rain would not appear. Luck was on our side and we had a productive litter pick with 20+ bags filled. A welcome pint or two at the Boat and Horses PH, Newcastle rounded off a very pleasant day.

Twenty two walkers set out from Sandon on a misty morning on the first day of British Summer Time trying to ignore our body clocks which were still set one hour earlier. We we hopeful of a dry day and we were not disappointed as warm sun eventually broke through the mist making us feel a little overdressed. Maggie C very kindly distributed mini chocolate Easter eggs, and Pat and Paul steered us along an excellent walk through rolling, albeit wet, landscapes. At the end of the event we were made welcome at the Dog and Doublet PH.

Twelve happy ramblers set off from Ellastone with fingers crossed that the sun would stay out, at least until after lunch. Sadly, the fine weather did not hold and, as the wind and rain swept in we took a less muddy descent back to the cars. Seven of us then took advantage of very pleasant hospitality in The Duncombe Arms PH.
