Thirteen members braved the slight rain at the beginning of the walk. The weather improved, but underfoot it remained wet and muddy. The photo shows some mud but also a bright sky. After the walk some went to a pub in Swynerton.

Sue R led this winter wonderland five mile walk for about 15 intreped ramblers on a cold snowy morning. They wrapped up well and a good time was had by all. After the walk they were joined by other less hardy members and former walkers at the Grayhound Inn, Burston where we ate an excellent and convial Christmas lunch. Thanks are due to Linda L and Sue R for organising this enjoyable event.

It was a chilly minus 3 when four of us left Horsehay, heading off on a 13 mile walk to the Wrekin and back, with the sun shining from a clear blue sky. The route was based on a walk that Jan devised and led for the full day Sunday group in 2018, extended by finding an approach from the North rather than the usual "tourist road", and later by another climb over and down the Little Wrekin.
On the way up we passed a fully decorated Christmas tree, erected each year by a group of friends who then invite anyone to add their own bauble. There were many there with dedication to friends and relatives who have passed away.
The view from the trig point was superb, but still cold and somewhat misty. Caer Caradoc and the Brown Clee were clearly visible, and possibly Mow Cop but the lack of clarity did not diminish the overall, very atmospheric beauty.
By the time we returned to the cars just after 4 the light was fading, and all agreed it had been a day to remember, challenging but rewarding - a varied route in good company!
