Despite the adverse forecast, nine ramblers, including a guest from the Leicester Forest group, enjoyed a varied walk in remarkably fine weather that provided extensive views over both Staffordshire Moorlands and the Cheshire plane. Afterwards, we also enjoyed refreshments at the Talbot PH.

More than twenty walkers set off through fields to Barleston village and then on to Downs Banks before returning via the Trent and Mersey Canal. While the second half of the walk was wet, we were delighted to witness a spectacular low fly past from a large flock of very noisy canada geese.

On a cold and windy day twenty six ramblers enjoyed a great walk led by Linda W around Keele and the surrounding area.

Eighteen walkers met at the RSPB Coombs Valley nature reserve. We made our way through woods passing some impressive fungi before stopping at the Butter Cross for a break. We then walked on to Egg Well before finally making our way back to the cars with great views of Shutlingsloe and the Roaches. After the walk, a few of us stopped at the Boat Inn PH for refreshments.

More than twenty ramblers narrowly missed the rain today as we walked along lanes and the towpath of the Shropshire Union canal. A highlight was meeting the BBC Countryfile team who were filming with Anita Rani to celebrate their Children in Need ramble. After our walk we took refreshments in the Red Lion Inn, Market Drayton.
