Approximately fifteen Ramblers members including a guests from other groups joined Malcom S for an eight mile walk from Cannock Chase Punch Bowl CP. It was a lovely winter's morning where we rejoiced that last week's snow had all thawed, which left the ground only frosty and the sky blue. The route took us over Oat Hill, and the top of Brocton Coppice before following the Heart of England Way and crossing to the Stepping Stones on our way back to the cars. After the walk some of the group visited the Wolseley Arms PH for hot drinks or something stronger.
Thank you Malcolm for leading such a refreshing event.

More than twenty ramblers set off from Down Banks near Barlaston for our last Sunday walk of 2024. The scenic views were impressive with low sun and clear blue skies which made for some great photographs with vibrant colours.

Twenty six ramblers joined Linda L and Pauline E for a misty morning walk, but, more positively. there was less mud than anticipated. At the end of the walk a warm welcome awaited us at the Auctioneers Arms PH where some former walkers joined us and a finger buffet (with chips!) was served on our arrival. Thanks are due to Maria F for arranging an excellent lunch. A good time was had by all.

Twenty one Ramblers members joined Paul T at Dilhorne for our traditional Xmas Mince Pie Walk. Maggie and Howard supplied a cream sherry tipple before we started and Paul supplied home made mince pies and lemon curd tarts to enjoy at our coffee stop. Before we set off Paul announced 'There will be mud' and he was not wrong. While it was a little tacky on places along the route our footwear proved resilient and, despite the sherry and some fallen trees along the route, nobody fell over. Overhead the weather was warm and dry and, afterwards, we adjourned to the Auctioneers Arms PH at Caverswall for hot drinks or something stronger.
Great thanks are due to Rob, who provided the coffee break seating, and to Maggie, Howard, Pat and Paul. Stoke/Newcastle Ramblers relies on volunteers such as these who give their time willingly for the enjoyment of others.
